The Cowboys have come with a good run of form at just the right time as they look to cement their place in the top eight.

They are 1.16 to make the eight and play finals, but cannot afford to take their foot off the gas as the ladder remains very tight.

Just two points separate the Cowboys in sixth and the Dragons in 10th, so another two points is the order of the day against the Tigers.

The Tigers remain bottom of the ladder with just four wins all season and are priced at 1.60 to suffer most losses.

They have picked up their best results at Leichhardt however and will be out to cause an upset against the Cowboys.

. What: Wests Tigers v North Queensland Cowboys

. When: 19:50 (AEST), Thursday 1st August

Tigers hope for home comforts

Wests Tigers continue to struggle this season and head into the clash on the back of five straight defeats.

Benji Marshall's side showed signs of promise with 48-24 win over Canberra Raiders, but then slipped into old habits when losing the next five.

They have been on the road for the last three games and will be delighted to be back at Leichhardt Oval on Thursday night.

The last time they played at the historic venue, they gave Melbourne Storm a run for their money, before losing by just 12 points.

On average they have been conceding 29 points a game this season, while scoring just 19, so it is clear to see the Tigers have issues.

Home soil could be crucial however, and the Tigers can be backed at 5.00 to beat the Cowboys by 1-12 points.

Cowboys on a roll

North Queensland are on a roll after winning the last two games and need to keep up the good work against the Tigers.

Indeed the only defeat they have suffered in the last five games, was a golden-point loss against the Manly Sea Eagles.

However the last time they were in Sydney, they pulled off a massive 10-point win against Penrith Panthers, and can take confidence from that result.

Leichhardt is not a happy hunting ground for them though. They have won just two out of 13 games at the venue, so need to put that record straight.

The Cowboys have scored a total of 116 points in the last two meetings against the Tigers, conceding 28.

But both games were in Queensland and they now need to produce the same at Leichhardt.

They can be backed at 2.10 to do just that and win by 13+ points.

Kyle Feldt grabbed a couple of tries in the 42-28 victory back in Round 12, and is sure to be a huge threat once again.
