Turnitup, winner of the Grand Prix at Doomben, was one of the best backed winners with TAB Sportsbet's Fixed Odds on Saturday.
Turnitup opened at $15 after acceptances and was into $7.50 on Saturday morning before firming to $5.50.
His price firmed late in betting after steady support all afternoon, with one bet of $1000 @ $8 before another of $2500 @ $5.50.
Chateau Fort, Peck and Fillydelphia were also well backed in the Grand Prix but didn't figure in the finish.
At Caulfield Basil Da Man was one of the best backed runners however he didn't justify the support.
The previously unbeaten Basil Da Man was backed into $2.70 favourite on Fixed Odds but the race was taken out by another well supported runner Secret Flyer.
The bets on Basil Da Man included $2000 @ $3.30, $2000 @ $3.20, $5000 @ $3.20, $2000 @ $3.00, $4000 @ $3.00, $5000 @ $2.80 and $6000 @ $2.80
The impressive Adelaide winner The Bagman attracted some of the biggest bets of the day at long odds on.
He won rasce 3 at Morphettville carrying bets of $20,000 @ $1.40, $20,000 @ $1.33, $7500 @ $1.35 and $5000 @ $1.30
At Doomben Work The Room failed as a well backed favourite in the second race but Alberton Park pulled off a big plunge in race 3, having opened up on Fixed Odds at $13 early before firming today from $7 into $5.
The Counterfeiter was another short priced failure at Caulfield where some big bets were landed on the sprint winner General Truce.
At Randwick the best backed winner was the import Foreteller.
