Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Taree.

Lukey (Race 6) is one of a couple of runners in this event to be supported but his has been the most significant move, firming from opening odds of close to double figures into a fixed price of $4.40. He comes into today’s race third up after running in tougher races at the provincials and his key statistic is he is unbeaten in three starts at Taree – in fact he has never won anywhere else.

Kopite (Race 8) is another back to country grade from the provincials and the punters believes that can see her return to the winner’s list, firming more than a half point as a solid $2.90 favourite. She will be fitter for two runs so far this campaign and won her only previous third up attempt.
