Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Monday’s meeting at Canterbury.

In Mum's Memory (Race 1) is the one punters want to start the day with good money seeing her firm more than a point to $3.30. She broke her maiden in good style last start, returning a rating that is the equal highest last start figure in the field and punters are looking for her to make further progression.

Cordero (Race 2) has been a massive go, the debutante firming from opening odds of close to $20 in to favouritism at $4.40. Trained by Team Hawkes, the two-year-old beat just one runner home in his only barrier trial but the money suggests massive improvement is expected on track today.

My Giuliano (Race 4) has taken over at the head of the market at $2.90 after firming more than a half point in early betting. He has placed in both runs this time in and the step up in trip and the extra fitness third-up can see him ready to peak.

Cry For Peace (Race 5) is challenging for favouritism at $3.20 after a constant stream of early money saw her firm almost a full point. First up from a spell, the filly will be fitter for a recent trial and punters are looking for her to take another step forward this campaign.

Invinzabeel (Race 6) comes into today’s race as a top-rater on last start figures and he should be fully fit now after two good runs this time in. He is a clear favourite at $2.70 after firming almost a full dollar. He hit the line well to go down narrowly in a busy finish last start and with a good third up record to his name should be suited by the step up in trip.

Hillary Step (Race 7) is one of the better goes of the day, has almost halved her opening quote to firm to $4.60. Trained at Taree by Ross Stitt, the filly returned a career best rating when bolting home by more than six lengths at Beaumont last start and while stepping up to city grade, punters are looking for her to continue on the upward spiral.
