Chris Scholtz reviews racing around Australia on July 1.

THE STARS

HUGH BOWMAN: The chips were down in the riding premiership race and he delivered with three winners, putting Brention Avdulla on nortice that he is not home and hosed with a month to go.

DEAN YENDALL: Rarely seen in Sydney but the Victoriuan veteran showed up his Sydney rivals with two fine winning rides.

DAMIEN BROWNE: Proved again that he’s definitely the King of Caloundra with a wining treble on ist biggest day.

JAMIE KAH: Another treble showed why she has dominated the Adelaide premiership.

GOLD SYMPHONY: Being gelded after last prep has made him a winter star. Can dominate anything he runs in while in this form.

SUPPLY AND DEMAND: History tells you that when Gai Waterhouse gets an improving stayer on a winning roll there’s no telling how far they can go. Ran 2400m at first go in the Caloundra Cup on his ear to make it three straight.

DARRYL HANSEN: A big feature double at Caloundra was his career highlight. They ahd plenty to celebrate as the double took plentry from the bookmakers

ADAM HYERONIMUS: Great homecoming as he grabbed a last minute chance to ride a feature winner at his first ever ride at Caloundra, a track where he grew up as a kid.

THEY SAID IT!

“Mum owns her, Dad trains her and I'm riding her. She's a beautiful filly. " - Brandoin Stockdale sums up the thrill of winning three straight on family filly Unique Lovely at Caulfield.

"I spent much of my childhood here - it's a homecoming of sorts.” - Adam Hyeronimus after winning the Glasshouse Sprint at Caloundra at his first ride ride on the Sunshine Coast track

“I think there are two of him. He didn't seem interested in racing today.” – Michael Cahill sums up Self Sense’e Caloundra Cup flop.

“I wasn't expecting that. To get a result like this is phenomenal - days like this makes it all worth it.” – Kyneton trainer Dean Krongold's reaction after the upset win by Nesbo at Caulfield gave him his first Saturday metropolitan winner

"Damian knows how to ride this track and you don't disagree with him.” - LIam Birchley praises the Caloundra riding skills of Damian Browne.

SIN BIN

JEFF LLOYD: Not one of his best on Acatour in the Sunshione Coast Guineas. Copped plenty from the punters who weren’t happy with his indecisive tactics.

SELF SENSE; What can you say about this shocker from a horse who won his previous start in the Ipswich Cup by six lengths?

I’LL FLY AWAY: Not up to second run in a week, but also grossly over-rated.

BLACKBOOK

INVINCIBLE KNIGHT: Hold plenty of upside. Looking for 1600m.

TOP STRIKER: Solid first-up. Sharp when right.

RENEGED: Posted wide but gave plenty. Wins with a kinder run.

ACCEPTILE: Gave up too much start. Open to improvement.

FLOW: Excellent effort to hold a place after tough run.

DEL PRADO: Solid finish. Encouraging signs.
