TRIAL STARS
ROSEHILL RACE 6: SHUMOOKH (Randwick September 13) - Classy mare showed she had taken the expected improvement form her game first-up second in the Mona Lisa at Wyong, taking control of her 1200m heat from the start and running it at her leisure to score by a dominant margin with plenty in hand. Expect to see her very competitive in any race for her own sex up to 1600m.ROSEHILL RACE 7: TCHAIKOVSKY (Randwick September 13) - His strong trial over 1050m supports the confidence the stable holds in his ability. He sat off the leaders before unleashing a classy sprint at the 200m that carried him past some accomplished older rivals with ease before he was throttled down to record a soft win. Has come on well since his first-up fifth in the G2 San Domenico and is primed to improve.CAULFIELD RACE 5: SPENDING TO WIN (Randwick August 28) – His 740m trial was his first since he ended another consistent campaign in early June with a deserving win at the Sunshine Coast. Showed he is in the right form to add to his excellent record when he resumes by sitting three deep off the pace and travelling well within himself before working into second in the last 150m with plenty to offer. Has missed a place only twice in 18 starts and confidently expecting more of the same.
CAULFIELD RACE 9: GLOBAL GLAMOUR (Rosehill September 3): Multiple G1 winner was having her second trial since the autumn and was a lot keener to perform in her 1030m heat than her first last month, jumping straight to the lead and doing it well within herself to win by a soft half length that could have easily been extended. She can make a statement during the spring, more than likely against her own sex.MORPHETTVILLE RACE 7: DEMERARA: (Warwick Farm August 10) - Hugh Bowman would have had sore arms after holding down this classy mare to finish second behind stablemate Deity (subsequent winner) in the fastest 795m heat on the inside grass. No doubt she could have won the trial easily if given her head - be ready for her put in a big one fresh. Trialled again WF August 24 when easy fifth.
