The Racing WA Best From The West - 14th of December, 2024

Best Bets for Gold Rush Day as The Pinnacles comes to an end.

Best from the West Picture: RacingandSports

It's the final day of The Pinnacles carnival with the running of the Gold Rush (1400m) rounding out a fantastic carnival.

Who could forget last year when a retiring Damien Oliver rode the last three winners on the card, including Munhamek in the Gold Rush to end his career on a winning note.

Conditions look perfect for Saturday with the track rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning and the rail in the true position with a top of 28 degrees on Saturday.

As the early market shows, it's an open Gold Rush this year and our man Trent Crebbin has previewed the great race, which you can read here.

Better yet, the third member of The Saturday Multi - Ethan Perry - has provided some key stats ahead of the Gold Rush which you can click through to read here.

The above articles should get the blood pumping ahead of a cracking card of racing, which you can (of course) watch every minute of live and free on 7Plus and Racing WA!

Over to the Bets now where THE BOSS LADY makes plenty of appeal in race four on the card.

She clocked some good sectionals when running overee the top to score in the Jungle Dawn last time otu and comes back to a Ratings race now.

There are a couple of handy ones engaged, but she looks to lob in a good spot under Parnham and she rates highly off the latest effort.

Rockin Rupert is a little scary following his run in the Winterbottom Stakes last time out and he goes out to 1400m for the first time. While that was a strongly run Winterbottom, I'm hoping that he won't be able to replicate something similar over 1400m despite the good draw.

I expect The Boss Lady to be within striking distance as they swing the bend before hopefully kicking away for back-to-back victories.

Going to side with another mare later in the card with OWN THE QUEEN making plenty of appeal in the Starstruck Classic (race seven).

She was superb first-up from a break over an unsuitable trip, being slowly away and then rattling home in some fast splits to just miss out on the victory.

The figures posted there suggested she could go to another level this time in work and with that run out of the way, she can sit a touch closer from barrier one.

If she can run up to what the sectionals showed us last start, she'll be awfully hard to hold out on Saturday.
