Burbero Picture: Racing and Sports

RANDWICK SATURDAY

RACE 1 (7) DOUBOS: Came off solid Goulburn and Canberra efforts up to 1600m for a luckless fifth over this course and distance on January 1 when she was badly boxed up and full of running before finally getting clear in the last 100m. It was all too late but her eye catching effort to quickly make ground on the placegetters augers well for her chances in this even field where she is likely to sit back and have the last run at them. Well worth a gamble at her generous early odds.

RACE 5 (8) BURBERO: Going well this prep and should really appreciate the step up to 1600m after his chasing home two very smart horses at his last two starts over 1400m and 1350m at Rosehill. The weights are really in his favour this time as he drops 4kg on his last effort against the classy Vashka and with Brodie Loy’s claim will be carrying 3kg under the limit.

RACE 7: (13) GOD'S IN HIM: Still in his first preparation for Team Hawkes but already has two wins to his credit and is well placed to add another under similar conditions to his last start success over this same course and distance when he really appreciated getting back on firm ground after two starts on affected tracks. Stays on the same weight and should enjoy an economical run in the big field from his favourable draw.
