Grandview respond to current economic situation.

Whittington.

In light of the current economic situation, Grandview Stud has taken the decision to reduce the fees for their two stallions, with second season sire Whittington (Tale Of The Cat) set to stand at a fee of $5,500 (inc GST), while Under The Louvre (Excellent Art) will stand for $4,400 (inc GST).

Whittington has sired 20 winners to date stood for $6,600 (inc GST) last season, while Under The Louvre, whose oldest crop are yearlings, has also had his fee shaved by $1,000 having stood the 2019 season at a fee of $5,500 (inc GST).

Grandview Stud owner Michael Grieve said he reduced the stallion fees for 2020 to provide breeders with greater value in the current economic conditions.

There has already been strong interest in both QTIS stallions thanks to the results of their progeny on the track and sales ring.

"There has been a tremendous run of winners by Whittington this year reinforcing his second position in the Queensland second season sire table and third position in the Queensland 3yo sire table," said Grieve.

"For $5,500, he is exceptional value especially for Queensland breeders to chase the lucrative QTIS bonus prize-money in races.

"Under The Louvre enters his fourth season at stud with his first crop producing good results in the sales ring and glowing endorsements from respected international bloodstock agents like John Foote.

"His first crop will be given some great opportunities to succeed at leading stables next season including Ciaron Maher, Chris Waller and Bryan and Daniel Guy, so his service fee of $4,400 could turn out to be an absolute bargain."
