Roxy Blue scores dominant four length victory at Port Lincoln on debut
One-time shuttler Air Force Blue (War Front) sired his first winner in Australia on Friday when his daughter Roxy Blue (2 f ex Rock Out by Rock Of Gibraltar) won on debut at Port Lincoln.
The Travis Doudle-trained filly beat Brohare (Rebel Raider) by four lengths in the PB & KG Gaskell Contractor Maiden (1000m). Bold Discent (Dissident) was another length and a quarter back in third.
Roxy Blue is the first winner out of four-time winning mare Rock Out (Rock Of Gibraltar) while her third dam is Gala Night (Blakeney) who produced three winners headed by Group 1 winning sire Al Akbar (Success Express).
Rock Out has a colt foal by Swettenham Stud shuttler Toronado (High Chaparral) and was covered by Needs Further (Encosta De Lago) last spring.
Air Force Blue shuttled to Australia for just one season and his 2021 fee at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Kentucky is set at US$10,000. He has sired 19 winners in total with his progeny headed by four stakes performers in Chief Little Hawk, Fighting Force, Twilight Blue and Take Profit.
