Dual stakes winner Sandbar (Snitzel) - a half-brother to last season’s Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Farnan - has been retired and is being put on the market as a stallion prospect.

“Sandbar has given his ownership group a great ride. He will be a worthy stallion for whichever farm secures him,” said BK’s racing manager, Ben Vassallo.

Purchased by Jadeskye Racing/BK Racing for $650,000 at the Magic MIllions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in 2017, Sandbar won four of his 21 races, headlined by victories in Lonhro Plate (Listed, 1100m) and Rosebud Plate (Listed, 1100m), while he was also placed in the Roman Consul Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) and Pago Pago Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m). He earned $525,970 in career prize-money.

The son of Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) is one of three winners out of the Group 3-winning Street Cry (Machiavellian) mare Tallow.
