A colt out of Kayja’s Joy is foaled at Torryburn Stud.
The first foal by Aquis Farm-based Pierata (Pierro), a colt out of Kayjay's Joy (Snitzel), was born at Torryburn Stud on Thursday.
"At 15 hours old the colt is showing a lovely balance to him just like his sire, has plenty of strength and scope," said Torryburn Stud manager Melissa Copelin.
A seven-time winner Kayjay's Joy is a half-sister to the Listed placed Intelligentsia (Danzero) and from the family of dual Group One winner and sire Keeninsky (Stravinsky).
Pierata will stand his second season at stud for an unchanged fee of $44,000 (inc GST) having covered a book of 169 mares last year.
