Myboycharlie, Wordsmith and Zoustar add new stakes winner

25 for Myboycharlie
Miss Charlie Brown (3 f ex Red Fever by Red Ransom) captured Friday night's Strutt Stakes (Listed, 2100m) at Hobart, providing her former shuttle sire Myboycharlie (Danetime) with his 25th stakes winner. A $62,000 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale buy by her trainer Adam Trinder from the draft of her breeder Bowness Stud, Miss Charlie Brown beat Ashmania (Wordsmith) by a head and took her record to three wins and one placing in 11 starts. 

Myboycharlie shuttled to Australia for nine seasons between 2009 and 2017 and he is now based in Turkey. 

 

Seven for Wordsmith 
The Newphew's (3 g ex Husson's Kiss by Husson) win in the Tasmaian Derby (Listed, 2200m) at Hobart on Friday handed Gee Gee Stud's Wordsmith (Testa Rossa) his seventh stakes winner. Trained by Patrick Payne, The Nephew beat Ashy Boy (Star Witness) by three quarters of a length, stepping up to stakes company for the first time. 

Wordsmith covered 28 mares in 2020. 

 

26 for Zoustar
Widden Stud's Zoustar (Northern Meteor) notched up his 26th stakes winner on Friday when Zoushine (4 m ex Ravenous Lass by Stratum) won the Bow Mistree (Gr 3, 1200m) at Hobart. Trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy, Zoushine beat Award Winner (Exceed And Excel) by a half length. Zoushine was bought by McEvoy Mitchell Racing from the draft of Mill Park for $380,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. 

Zoustar had 43 lots sold at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $18,375,000 at an average of $427,326.
