Toronado's fee increased to $88,000 for his eighth season in Australia
After announcing last week that Group 1 winning sprinter Wooded (Wootton Bassett) would shuttle to Swettenham Stud this year, on Wednesday Swettenham Stud announced the fees for their other five stallions with Toronado's (High Chaparral) fee increasing to $88,000 (inc GST).
Shuttling to Swettenham Stud this spring for the eighth consecutive season, Toronado covered a book of 172 mares in 2021 when his fee was set at $49,500 (inc GST). He has enjoyed not only a successful season on the racetrack, siring six new stakes winners but he's also had success in the sales ring, with his yearlings selling for up to $850,000.
Rubick (Encosta De Lago), who sired his fourth stakes winner on Saturday when Rubiquitous won the Mick Dittman Plate (Listed, 1100m) at Doomben and he will stand his second season in Victoria at $22,000 (inc GST), down from $27,500 (inc GST) a year ago.
Highland Reel (Galileo) returns to Swettenham Stud for a fifth season and his fee remains unchanged at $16,500 (inc GST). The roster is completed by Puissance De Lune (Shamardal) who will stand the 2022 season at a reduced fee of $14,300 (inc GST), down from $19,800, and I Am Immortal (I Am Invincible) will cover his third book of mares at an unchanged fee of $13,750 (inc GST).
Wooded's fee was announce last week at $22,000 (inc GST).
