Reel Rosie breaks her maiden on debut at Redcar
The Ed Bethell-trained Reel Rosie (2 f ex Lady Canford by Canford Cliffs) provided her Swettenham Stud shuttle sire Highland Reel (Galileo) with his third winner when she broke her maiden on debut at Redcar on Saturday.
Reel Rosie took the lead in the closing stages to record a victory of a neck over the Michael Bell-trained favourite Bellstreet Bride (Sir Percy).
Highland Reel's first two winners were Highland Premiere and Gerilda and his 2021 fee at Swettenham Stud has been set at and unchanged fee of $16,500 (inc GST) for his fourth season in Australia. The son of Galileo (Sadler's Wells) covered a book of 161 mares in Australia last season.
