Orfevre and Siyouni add new stakes winners and Reliable Man records his tenth Group winner
50 for Siyouni
Seachange (4 f ex Ydillique by Sadler’s Wells), a homebred for Wertherimer & Frere, became the 50th stakes winner for Siyouni (Pivotal) when she won Sunday’s Prix de la Pepinere (Listed, 2100m) at Chantilly. Having not raced for two months, Seachange returned to form with a half length victory over Control Tower (Youmzain) with Nationalista (Nathaniel) a close third. Siyouni’s stakes winners are headed by six Group One winners; Laurens, St Mark’s Basilica, Sottsass, Ervedya, Etoile and Dream And Do and he currently heads the leading sires table in France by earnings. He stood at the Aga Khan’s Haras de Bonneval for a fee of €140,000 this year.
11 for Reliable Man
Westbury Stud shuttler Reliable Man (Dalakhani) sired his tenth Group winner on Sunday when Adrian (4 c ex Anna Desta by Desert Sun) won the Furstenberg-Rennen (Gr 3, 2400m) at Hoppegarten. Trained by Henk Grewe, the colt byat Nubius (Dylan Thomas) with another length back to Deia (Soldier Hollow) in third. Reliable Man’s stakes winners include VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) winner Miami Bound, New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Miss Sentimental and Railway Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Inspirational Girl and he will stand for NZ$17,500 (plus GST) this year.
14 for Orfevre
The previously stakes placed Andraste (5 m ex Validior by Dynaformer) became the 14th stakes winner for Orfevre (Stay Gold) when she won Sunday’s Sho Chukyo Kinen (Gr 3, 1800m) at Kokura. Starting favourite, Andraste scored by three quarters of a length over Catedral (Heart’s Cry). Based at Shadai Stallion Station, Orfevre’s stakes winners include the Grade One winners Lucky Lilac and Epoca d’Oro and he has five crops of racing age.
