Arrowfield Stud shuttler Maurice (Screen Hero) was represented by a double in Japan on Saturday after Stutti (2 f ex Lilavati by Zenno Rob Roy) and T O Mary (2 f ex Reagle Mary by Afternoon Deelites) both made winning debuts at Niigata and Sapporo respectively, taking their sires total tally of first-crop winners to three.

The Yutaka Okumura-trained Stutti came out on top of a close finish over 1600 metres to beat Red Belle Aube (Deep Impact) by a neck, while Cookie Ton (Novellist) finished another length and a half away in third.

The two-year-old filly is out of the winning Zenno Rob Roy (Sunday Silence) mare Lilavati, who is herself out of US Grade 1 winner Singhalese (Singspiel).

Lilavati is a sister to Listed winner Adam's Bridge, while she also counts Grade 1 winner Sinahlite (Deep Impact) and Grade 3 scorer Adam's Peak (Deep Impact), among her half siblings.

Further back this is the same family as Listed-winning duo Docofthebay (Docksider) and Branderburgo (High Chaparral).

Meanwhile at Sapporo, T O Mary took out a maiden over 1200 metres, beating Mountain Musume (Admire Moon) by two lengths, while Gotto Go Go (Rulership) finished another length and a quarter further back in third.

T O Mary is out of dual winner Reagle Mary (Afternoon Deelites), making her a half-sister to three-time Grade 3 winner Alsvid (Officer) and Listed winner T O Helios (Fusaichi Pegasus).

Reagle Mary herself is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Buddy Gil (Eastern Echo) and the dam of fellow Listed winner Delphinia (The Factor).

The filly's third dam is Listed winner Rising Writer (Staff Writer) - the dam of fellow Listed scorer Hodson (Murrtheblurr).

Maurice - whose first yearlings hit the sales ring next year - stood at Arrowfield Stud for the past three seasons, but due to coronavirus the son of Screen Hero (Grass Wonder) will not return to the Hunter Valley stud for the upcoming breeding season.
