Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale - Vendor In Focus

Invader Picture: Racing and Sports

Who is (are) your pick of the colts and why?
Lot 608 has been a favourite of mine from day one. I am a fan of his sire Invader (Snitzel) and this horse struck me as a two-year-old from the first time I saw him.

Who is (are) your pick of the fillies and why?
Lot 597 the Savabeel (Zabeel) filly out of Nina From Pasadena (Redoute’s Choice) and she is a beautiful filly. She is so light in her movement I could stand back and watch her for hours.

Who do you feel has improved most over the prep?
I think Lot 510 the Fastnet Rock (Danehill) colt from Maglissa (Magnus) has really developed through the preparation and continues to do so. We look forward to revealing the finished article on the Gold Coast.

How do you feel the 2021 sale will measure compared to previous renewals?
Feedback and traffic through the farm has been great to date- right on par with previous years so I feel competition will be strong for our horses.

How do you think the current COVID pandemic will affect the sale?
The industry through its racing and breeding has been super resilient through these tough times. I feel people will approach the sales this year with renewed enthusiasm as we have weathered a very difficult storm.

What do you think are the positives to the pandemic on the way that sales are conducted?
The situation has led to the emergence of online selling. It has improved the way we market and advertise our horses to the masses.

What is the thing you like most about the Gold Coast Sale?
I love the energy the Gold Coast oozes at the start of the year. Everyone wants to begin on a positive note. Also getting the chance to take in the beach and some lovely restaurants makes it enjoyable.
