Emirates Park-consigned daughter of Najoom is most expensive filly sold on Wednesday
The Emirates Park-sold daughter of I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) out of Najoom (Northern Meteor) was the most expensive filly sold on Wednesday when bought by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock for $1.55 million.
The filly was one of four lots sold for seven figures during the second session. Offered as Lot 306, the filly is out of the dual Group Three winner Najoom (Northern Meteor), making her a sister to Najmaty (I Am Invincible).
Raced by Emirates Park, Najmaty has won twice in eight starts including last year's Redoute's Choice Stakes (Listed, 1100m) at Caulfield for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable.
I Am Invincible has had 15 yearlings sold over the first two days of the sale and his average now sits at $598,667 while Emirates Park is the leading vendor by average with the four lots averaging $562,500.
"You go into these (fillies) as an eight or ten year project," Mills noted. "You hope they're very fast and if they're not you look at getting your money back in the sale ring.
"The families that I Am Invincible has been covering over the last few years – they're the families that everyone wants to buy into and that's why they are making these prices."
Mills said no decision had been made as yet as to who would train the prized filly."I would hope that she is a Magic Millions type of filly. We won't have any shortage of stables wanting to take her."
