Bell River celebrates Inglis record

James Harron broke his own Inglis Classic record on Day 1 of 2022 Sale.

BELL RIVERKID.

James Harron readjusted the Inglis Classic record last year and the prominent buyer bettered it again on Day 1 of the 2022 offering.

Harron paid $775,000 for a son of Extreme Choice, which easily surpassed the $600,000 he paid for a colt by Capitalist 12 months earlier.

The striking bay colt is by Extreme Choice out of the Murtajill mare Murtle Turtle.

It was a supreme result for Bell River Thoroughbreds, which prepared the colt for sale and is renowned for selling Blue Diamond winner Extreme Choice at the same sale.

"It's a special day, you wonder why you put yourself through the stress at home and to worry about things - he had an (eye) injury and we nearly lost him - so to be here today and get that result it's rewarding," Bell River's James Ferguson said.

"James's (Harron) record is exceptional, he's got X amount of stallions at stud and what he's doing for his business and system is clearly working and hopefully he can go stand along dad one day (at stud), that would be the dream for sure."
