The first breeze-ups in this year’s Inglis Ready2Race circuit were held last Friday.
Inglis's attention now turns to Wednesday's Brisbane breeze-ups after a successful opening to the 2022 Ready2Race circuit at Seymour on Friday.
Seventy-eight two-year-olds breezed-up with 59 registering a sub-11 seconds final 200m.
The fastest for the day was the colt by Deep Field out of Alderney, who clocked a 10.1-second final 200m.
A $120,000 buy for 'Tal' Nolen at this year's Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, the colt was one of eight youngsters produced at the breeze-up session by Nolen and is catalogued as Lot 110.
"He's a really good horse I think, the sire is doing a great job in Hong Kong, I wouldn't be surprised if this colt is a Hong Kong horse himself, he's doing everything right so far and has a very good attitude," Nolen said.
"I am very happy with how the entire draft went today, I'm a huge fan of the Written By x Family Reunion colt (lot 173), unfortunately he was a little shin sore today but he breezed up in 10.41.
"One that surprised us a bit was the U S Navy Flag x Gotta be Gold colt (lot 186), the second fastest from our draft and the third fastest of the day (10.2).
"I paid $50,000 for him from the Inglis Premier Sale, I liked a couple of yearlings by that sire at Premier and was happy to go home with him, he looks to like a fast, precocious type."
"I also really like the Justify x Whistle Baby (lot 97), the penny hasn't dropped with him yet, he's too laidback, he reminds me of (multiple G2 winner and G1 placegetter) Lightsaber."
Vision of the Seymour breeze-ups are now available on the Inglis website.
The breeze-up circuit now rolls on to Eagle Farm, the venue for Wednesday's Brisbane session, before Warwick Farm hosts the first Sydney set this Friday.
Further breeze-up sessions will be conducted at Cambridge in New Zealand next Monday with another set to be held at Warwick Farm on October 6 before the 289-lot catalogue goes under the hammer on October 11.
