Daughter of Royal Delta scores on debut.
Delta's Royalty, by Galileo and out of Royal Delta, scored on debut at Kempton on Thursday evening. Bred by Besilu Stables and raced by Benjamin Leon Jr, the juvenile won by three quarters of a length over a mile on the all-weather.
Trained by Roger Varian, Delta's Royalty raced greenly in the closing stages but had enough to hold off the challenge of Samille on her outside, with another two and a half lengths back to Marco Botti's Fairmet in third. She is the only foal out of the late multiple Grade 1 winner Royal Delta.
Leon's Besilu Stables bought Royal Delta for US$8,500,000 at the 2011 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale days after her first Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (Grade 1) victory at Churchill Downs.
Royal Delta died shortly after foaling Delta's Royalty in 2017.
