The daughter of Medicean, who started her racecourse career for John Gosden with a win at Pontefract, went on to further success as a youngster when beating subsequent Oaks winner Alexandrova in the Group 1 Fillies Mile at Newmarket in 2005.

Nannina was undone by the soft ground when beating only one home in the 1000 Guineas won by Speciosa but made amends when trouncing Flashy Wings in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Kept in training at four, Nannina made a triumphant return to Royal Ascot in the Group 2 Windsor Castle Stakes and only just missed out on a third win at the highest level when runner upto Majestic Roi on her final outing in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket in October 2007.

Chris Richardson, managing director of Cheveley Park Stud, said: "Nannina seems to be a great first time mother and her foal looks a racy sort and hopefully will prove to be as good as she was.

"The plan at the moment is that Nannina will return to Pivotal in the near future."
