The first crop of Holy Roman Emperor made up to 400,000 guineas at last autumn's yearling sales and Aidan O'Brien, who trained the brilliant two-year-old, is excited by his progeny ahead of the new season.
"When Holy Roman Emperor was taken away from us in the spring of his three-year-old season to go to stud (after George Washington went back into training) it was a bitter pill to swallow at the time," O'Brien told the Racing Post.
"He was a very good two-year-old and we believed he had trained on and would be a big force at three. Losing him broke our hearts at the time, but now we're beginning to think it might just have been a blessing in disguise.
"We have a batch of his first two-year-olds this season, one year ahead of schedule you might say.
"They are all bays and precocious, strong and hardy, like their dad. We've done nothing with them yet but they look an exciting bunch.
"Galileo and Montjeu have filled the void left by Sadler's Wells and Holy Roman Emperor might do the same for Danehill."
Holy Roman Emperor is standing for 17,500 euros in 2010.
