Australian breeding stood up on one of South Africa’s biggest race days when Inglis Easter graduate Entisaar stamped her class on the G1 Allan Robertson Championship over 1200m at Scottsvile on Saturday.
Entisaar (More Than Ready x Purrpurrlena) has won three of her four career starts, all at stakes level.
The two-year-old filly is trained by Mike de Kock and races in the famed blue and white colours of Shadwell Stud owned by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum.Entisaar is the first foal out of the Catbird mare Purrpurrlena, her second foal is a full sister to Entisaar and has been retained to race in Australia by her breeder Alan Green of Echo Beach Bloodstock.
A stunning dark bay filly, Entisaar was sold by Vinery Stud for $300,000 at the 2014 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.She is yet another victorious Inglis graduate for the Shadwell South Africa selection team which consists of Racing manager Angus Gold, trainer Mike de Kock and Jehan Malherbe of Form Bloodstock.
De Kock was also represented by fellow Inglis graduate Shaama but Entisaar used her greater race experience to good advantage dashing away over the final furlong to a strong victory over Princess Royal and Madame Dubois.“She looked really good in the ring and she was baulked for a run for a while which probably suited her with a lot of speed on upfront and she kicked on well. She is by More Than Ready which do tend to go on and are fairly decent sprinters,” said Mike de Kock.
It was back to back Allan Robertson Championships for Mike de Kock with his triple G1 winning filly Alboran Sea taking out the race last year. Alboran Sea also raced on Saturday, finishing second in the G1 South African Fillies Sprint having already won a Group 1 this preparation."All three fillies will now be spelled for the remainder of the season. Alboran Sea and Entisaar have done enough and Shaama is still quite immature,” reported de Kock.
Saturday’s result capped off a terrific week for Mike de Kock and Inglis graduates in South Africa with Entisaar, Majmu and Alboran Sea all taking out accolades at the Racing Associations Highveld Feature Season awards.Majmu will be out to become only the 13th filly in the 118 year history of the G1 Durban July to win South Africa’s premier race when she lines up next month.
The last filly to win the race was the great Australian bred and Inglis sold Igugu, which was trained to victory by Mike de Kock in 2011.
