Legatissimo Bounces Back In Nassau Stakes

3 minute read

Danehill Dancer’s outstanding filly Legaltissimo bounced back from her second in the G1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh to add the G1 Nassau Stakes at Goodwood to her record at Goodwood on Saturday.

The Michael Tabor-owned G1 1000 Guineas winner cruised down the outside in the straight to beat Wedding Vow, a Galileo filly also owned by Tabor.

The David Wachman trained Legatissimo (Danehill Dancer x Yummy Mummy by Montjeu) beat Aidan O’Brien’s Wedding Vow by two and a quarter lengths with Arabian Queen (Dubawi) third for trainer David Elsworth.

Bred by Newsells Park Stud, Legatissimo was purchased for 350,000gns from Book 1 of the 2013 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

Her dam Yummy Mummy, a siuster to the champion stayer Fame And Glory, has also produced the all-weather winner Another Cocktail.

Fame And Glory was trained by Aidan O'Brien to win the Irish Derby, Ascot Gold Cup, Tattersalls Gold Cup, Criterium de Saint-Cloud and Coronation Cup.

Danehill Dancer was retired from stud duty by Coolmore Stud in 2014.

A half-sister to Legatissimo by Redoute's Choice will be offered at the Tattersalls October Sale this year.
