Legatissimo (Danehill Dancer x Yummy Mummy by Montjeu) recorded her third G1 win after previous victories in the 1000 Guineas and Nassau Stakes, adding more value to her half sister by Redoute’s Choice to be offered at the Tattersalls sale.

Trained by David Wachman, Legatissimo was purchased by MV Magnier for 350,000 guineas at the October Yearling Sale from the draft of Newsells Park Stud.

The same nursery will offer her half-sister by Redoute’s Choice as part of their 22 strong draft. The filly also counts Irish Derby winner Fame And Glory among her relations.

Meanwhile champion sire Fastnet Rock posted multiple Group winners in both hemispheres over the weekend.

At Flemington on Saturday his G1 Thousand Guineas winner Amicus (Fastnet Rock x Gold Chant by El Moxie) added the G2 Let’s Elope Stakes to her record that also includes the G3 Toy Show Quality.

A $500,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Tyreel Stud draft, Amicus runs for a syndicate of Waller stable clients and has the overall record of four wins from 14 starts with prizemoney topping $660,000.

Bred by Makybe and consigned by Tyreel, Amicus is a half-sister to stakes-placed Il Cavallo and is the second winner for stakes-placed Gold Chant, a half-sister by El Moxie (USA) to champion sprinter and successful sire Starspangledbanner.

Gold Chant has a yearling full sister to Amicus by Fastnet Rock to follow.

Fastnet Rock’s weekend success started with a G2 success in the UK on Friday when the Jim Bolger-trained Turret Rocks (Fastnet Rock x Beyond Compare, by Galileo) won the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster.

The filly was also bred by Bolger and comes from the family of super mare Goldikova.

Fastnet Rock followed with an impressive weekend winner at Leopardstown in Ireland.

The Dermot Weld-trained 4YO Fascinating Rock (Fastnet Rock x Miss Polaris by Polar Falcon) recorded his fourth win at Leopardstown on Saturday when he scored by six lengths in G3 KPMG Enterprise Stakes.

In Sydney Fastnet Rock combined with Storm Cat to produce a potential Group winner at Warwick Farm on September 9.

The Gerald Ryan-trained Flying Achilles is by Fastnet Rock from the Storm Cat mare Queen Of Troy and will be given his chance in Group company over the spring after recording his first win at his fourth start.

Ryan has entered Flying Achilles for the G1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on October 10 and may have his next start in the G2 Spring Stakes at Newcastle on September 28.

The Coolmore-bred colt was a $225,000 yearling purchase by his trainer and races for his co-breeder Paul Fleming.

Fleming’s father, the late Jim Fleming, owned the colt’s grandmother Warrior Queen.

A stakes-winning daughter of Quiet American, Warrior Queen was bought by the Jim Fleming for $US2 million at the 2002 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale and went on to produce a number of expensive yearlings by champion sires.

Her first foal, a colt by AP Indy, made $US1.3 million at the Keeneland September sale and went on to be the G2 winner AP Warrior.

Her second foal, a filly by Storm Cat, sold for $US3.8 million in 2005. She raced as Egyptian Queen and produced the G2 winer Global View.

Warrior Queen’s third foal, another filly by Storm Cat, made $US2.2 million at the 2006 Keeneland September sale.

Warrior Queen went back to Storm Cat in 2006 producing Queen Of Troy. She was retained to race with Flying Achilles her first living foal.

• Redoute’s Choice and Fastnet Rock are represented in the Keeneland September Yearling Sale that starts in Kentucky on Monday.

The catalogue for the 12-day sale also contains progeny by shuttle sires Bernardini, Medaglia d’Oro, More Than Ready, The Factor, Warrior’s Reward and Uncle Mo.
