• VICTORIAN based sire Elvstroem has been sold to continue his stud career at Haras du Petit Tellier in France.
The 15-year-old son of Danehill has stood at Blue Gum Farm since his retirement in 2005.Elvstroem was a five-time G1 winner of the Victoria Derby, Caulfield Cup, Underwood Stakes, CF Orr Stakes and Dubai Duty Free and has sired the G1 winner Hucklebuck..
He is out of Marscay’s Australian Oaks winner Circles Of Gold and is a brother to Hveger, the dam of G1 winner Highland Reel, and a half-brother to G1 winner Haradsun.This is also the family of Starspangledbanner and Golden Slipper winner Polar Success.
• POULE d'Essai des Poulains winner Make Believe will stand at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland on a fee of €20,000.The three-year-old will be the first son of Makfi, a son of Dubawi, to be retired to stud.
He won four of his seven starts for Andre Fabre and owner Prince Faisal, who bought Make Believe as a yearling for 180,000gns, making him the highest priced first crop foal by Makfi.Make Believe led from start to finish to land the Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Longchamp by three lengths, beating subsequent Prix du Jockey Club winner New Bay, and returned to Longchamp to win the G1 Prix de la Foret in course record time.
Make Believe was last seen finishing fifth in the Breeders' Cup Mile.Ballylinch Stud has bought the controlling interest in Make Believe with Prince Faisal retaining a significant number of shares.
• KENTUCKY Derby winner Smarty Jones will relocate to Calumet Farm in Kentucky on a fee of $US7500 for the 2016 season.The 14-year-old son of Elusive Quality originally stood at Three Chimneys Farm for five years before moving to Ghost Ridge Farm followed by the Northview Stallion station in Pennsylvania.
Smarty Jones has sired 23 stakes winners including G1 winner Centralintelligence.• SINNDAR will relocate to Haras du Lion in France for the 2016 breeding season in a partnership deal with the Aga Khan Studs.
The 18-year-old son of Grand Lodge was set to stand at Haras de Bonneval.Sinndar's leading performers on the flat include dual G1 winner Youmzain and G1 Prix Vermeille winner Shareta.
Bred by the Aga Khan, Sinndar was a four-time G1 winner of the National Stakes, Epsom Derby, Irish Derby and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.Georges Rimaud, stud manager for the Aga Khan in France, said: "There has been an increasing demand for Sinndar from breeders across France and our geographical location has often been a constraint for them.
“This opportunity will allow them to have direct access to a proven dual-purpose stallion."• OVERBURY Stud in Gloucestershire will stand Nayef’s high class son Mustajeeb on behalf of his owner-breeder Hamdan Al Maktoum next year. He will stand at a fee of £5,000.
Mustajeeb was a G2 winner at Royal Ascot and was G1 placed when trained by Dermot Weld.
