Australian Group One winner Anamato has enhanced her high value as a broodmare by producing a stakes winner in Ireland.
Anamato, a daughter of Redoute’s Choice, won the G1 Australasian Oaks at Morphettville in 2007 when she was trained by David Hayes.
A daughter of the Whiskey Road mare Voltage, she was also G1 placed in the VRC Oaks and Caulfield Stakes and then raced in America where she was third in the G1 American Oaks.She also won the G2 Kewney Stakes at Caulfield, G2 Breeders Classic at Moonee Valley and the G3 SA Sires Produce Stakes in a career of 28 starts.
Anamato is now owned by Darley and her UK-bred daughter Anamba, by Shamardal, won last Sunday’s Listed Owenstown Stud Stakes at Naas for her second win in three starts in the Godolphin colours.“We waited and didn’t run in the Irish 1000 Guineas because of the ground and it’s nice that we have been vindicated,” said her trainer Mick Halford.
“She’s been coming to hand nicely and she holds an entry in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot so all being well she’ll run there.”Anamato’s dam Voltage is also the dam of G1 Oakleigh Plate winner Drum and stakes winner Port Watch. Another of her foals Tambour is the dam of of seven time G1 winner Grand Armee.
The family also includes Rosehill Guineas winner Dealer Principal, champion Hong Kong sprinter Absolute Champion and South African Derby winner Wylie Hall.
