Former Shuttle sire Elusive City has died at the age of 19 after suffering a heart attack.
A Prix Morny winner as a 2YO for his owners the Thoroughbred Corporation, the son of Elusive Quality started his stud career at Huma Park Stud in Ireland where he stood two seasons before relocating to the Irish National Stud.
His first crop of two-year-olds included the Goffs Million winner Soul City and stakes winners Elusive Wave and Nashmiah, taking him to champion first season sire by earnings.
Elusive Wave went on to win the G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches at Longchamp as a 3YO.
In 2010 Elusive City moved to Haras d’Etreham in France where remained for 10 years serving his last book this year.
He first shuttled to Trelawney Stud in New Zealand in 2004 as part of a deal by some of the country’s leading stud farms including Haunui Farm where he later stood for another seven southern hemisphere sesons.
Elusive City sired five G1 winners and 97 stakes winners to date with winners in over 40 different countries.
