Shocking has taken to his new duties at Rich Hill Stud like a seasoned professional.
The dual G1 winner of the Australian and Melbourne Cups has already served 30 mares and the first two covered returned positive scans over the weekend.
The only top-flight winning son of Street Cry at stud in Australasia, Shocking is on target to serve a quality book of 130 mares.
Among his court will be the G2 Waikato Gold Cup winner and dual G1 placegetter Passchendaele, Listed Sunline Vase and G1 New Zealand Oaks placegetter Mill Duckie and the well-performed sprinter Bankside Belle, who won eight races and placed at two in the G2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes.
The G1 producers Miss Rory (dam of Ellerslie and Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes winner Jokers Wild), Blue Heaven (dam of Easter Handicap winner Pasta Post) and Sea Island (dam of Metropolitan winner Herculian Prince) also feature in Shocking's debut book of mares.
