Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Sandown.

Worship The Blade (Race 1) has been the best go in a race of several early market movers. He is now second favourite at $4.80 after opening at a quote close to double figures. He steps out for his third career start after finishing with a few lengths of the winner at his first two and is expected to be ready to run out a strong mile now.

Claudia Jean (Race 4) has been best backed to beat the favourite with that support lifting her to the second line of betting at $4.40 after firming almost three points. She hit the line solidly last start and with Zabeel blood on her mother’s side may be looking for this longer trip now.

Swiss Kiss (Race 5) has almost joined the favourite in betting having firmed up about $1.50 to a fixed quote of $4 with TopBetta . She had won three races in a row on either side of a break before a close up second last start and the market suggests there is confidence she can measure up to city company.

Real Messi (Race 8) has the powerful Darren Weir and Brad Rawiller combination on his side and that could be one of the reasons he has shortened a few points into favouritism at $4.40. He worked to the line well last start and should be ready to peak third up and stepping out to the mile, a distance he has won at before.
