Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Saturday’s meeting at Caulfield.
Track: Good 4
Rail: Out 10m entire circuitFirst race: 11.50am
Sebrikka (Race 1) was a fast-finishing Ballarat winner when resuming and the punters are banking on her successfully taking the step up to city grade, firming her more than a point as a clear $3.60 favourite. That win gave her one of the highest ratings in this filed and she has the fitness edge on a big group of resumers and first starters.Fearless Raider (Race 3) opened as second favourite but is now the market elect at $3.20 after firming a full point since trading began. He looks a horse of promise and after running top three at his first three outings then stepped up to city class at this track and distance last time when an eye-catching fourth and looks open to further improvement.
Mr Individual (Race 5) opened at each way odds but steady support has seen his price roll in and he is now the popular pick at $3.20. He returns to Melbourne after two Queensland runs over the carnival and enjoys a significant drop in grade after running fourth at Group 3 level last start.Camdus (Race 6) is the one punters want to back with steady support seeing him shorten almost a full point to $4 in fixed odds betting. He has the highest last-start rating in this field after hitting the line hard to run second at this track when resuming and will be suited by the extra 200m now he has a run under his belt.
Girl Guide (Race 8) opened at double figure odds but she is clearly the best backed runner in this, still offering each way value at $6.50. She is a capable mare resuming and first up last campaign was nosed out by subsequent G1 placed Sheidel in a stakes race at this track and distance so this looks a suitable fresh target.Get Best Tote and Fixed Odds betting at TopBetta
