The Money Trail – Sandown, August 24

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Sandown.

Ready Fire Aim (Race 1) is an expensive blueblood and a market move suggests he is ready to start living up to his price tag. He offers each way value at $6.50 with TopBetta after opening at double figures since making some ground first up and steps up to the mile today.

Ariaz (Race 6) is a lightly-raced three-year-old filly taking on older gallopers but punters are drawn to the good form she showed at her first campaign and she is now nearing favouritism at $3.10, more than two pints shorter than her opening each way quote. The filly won at this track and distance on debut and at her only other run was second in a Group 2.

Mr Wonderful (Race 8) is still offering each way value at $5.50 after opening at close to double figures. He is in terrific form having won three on the trot, the last two at the lakeside course here but has one on this track before.

Wall Street Wolf (Race 9) is no stranger to a plunge but punters are banking on him bringing his Geelong synthetic track form to the city today and he is a clear favourite at $2.90 having shortened more than a point early. Although beaten in two city runs, he has impressively won his two other starts.
