Timeform Preview - Rockhampton October 25

3 minute read

Romanov has been racing in good form of late and will take plenty of beating when he lines up in the Benchmark 60 Handicap (1800m) at Rockhampton today.

Coming off a dominant three length win over the mile at this course last start, the Tom Button-trained runner goes up to the 1800m today where he ran a narrow third at Mackay two starts back.

Likely to get a very nice run off the pace from barrier 3 and Adrian Coome remains on board.

Romanov runs well here at his home course and on weight adjusted ratings measures up very well against his rivals today.

There was a lot to like about his last start win and if he runs up to his recent form today he should prove too strong once again.

Doubos has been very consistent in recent times, putting two wins together earlier in the preparation and has not been far away in two outings since.

Goes up to the 1800m today where she has a solid enough record, running third at Mackay over this trip earlier in the preparation and with the 3kg claim for Zoe white she gets in well today.

Should roll forward and settle on the speed once again today and based on her recent form she shapes up as the main danger.

Munjiz has failed to win a race in a very long time now but he has hit some form in recent times and comes into this off two third placings at this course.

Steps up to the 1800m today where he is unplaced from one start and from the good draw with the blinkers off certainly stays under notice.

Not sure he will be good enough to challenge for the win but he rates pretty well on his last couple and can make his way into the placings.

The Golden Pig comes into this on the back of a last start win at Ballina over 1900m following some mixed form prior.

Gets a much needed claim from apprentice jockey and he has shown enough in recent times to suggest he can be competitive today.

Good luck!
