The Money Trail – Hawkesbury, May 18

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Thursday’s meeting at Hawkesbury.

Penske (Race 3) is a hot favourite at $2 having firmed a half point this morning. The Waterhouse-Bott son of Sebring makes his debut after winning a recent trial at Kembla.

Bonita (Race 4) has taken over as favourite at $2.45 having more than halved her opening quote. She steps up to provincial class off strong country form scoring a first up win at Taree and running a good second last time at Cessnock.

Maddison Avenue (Race 5) has moved to the top line of betting at $3.80 having shortened three-and-a-half points this morning. She has returned in terrific form this campaign winning both of his starts at Goulburn and Nowra.

Lady Sansa (Race 6) could be worth an each way ticket at $5 having trimmed up three full points since markets opened. The punters are willing to forgive her last start failure and are going off her previous second at Newcastle.

Mount Taishan (Race 7) is another to have halved his opening quote to $4 and at that price is now the favourite. He has been close up at his last couple and could be ready to strike after three runs this time in.

Pygmy (Race 8) is a well-supported favourite at $2.70, which is 70 cents shorter than her opening price this morning. The filly was dominant in victory at Kembla last start and the punters are backing her to do it again.
