The Money Trail – Canberra, May 26

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Canberra.

Upper House (Race 1) could be worth an each way ticket at $5 having more than halved his opening double-figure quote. The two-year-old debutante was only a couple of lengths away in his trial and the market push suggests plenty is expected first up.

Kruptable (Race 3) has been backed in the best part of three points to $5 since betting commenced. The gelding steps out for his first start after showing promise when second in a recent trial.

So It Is (Race 5) is a well-supported favourite at $2.30 having firmed 50 cents on initial prices. The filly broke her maiden at Kembla last start and the punters are looking for her to take another step forward third up.

Little Off The Top (Race 7) offers each way value at $5.50 having halved his opening price. He made a good return to racing when a first up second at Sapphire Coast and has won at this distance before.
