The lightly raced Wall Street Boy appears well in line to continue his winning ways when lining up at Singapore on Friday night.
Set to contest one of the feature events of the night the lightly raced son of Encosta De Lago has continued to raise the bar this time in culminating with a three length romp last time out at this very course and distance.
Successful in notching up his third career victory from 11 starts, Wall Street Boy has shown dramatic improvement this time in and couldn't have been more impressive last start.
Settling down beautifully in second place, Wall Street Boy always appeared to be travelling well throughout and when asked for his full effort upon straightening he kicked clear early in the straight and fought on right to the line to hold all his rivals comfortably at bay.
Formerly trained in Australia under the name Just Forget It, Wall Street Boy came to Singapore with some reasonably strong formlines having not been disgraced in the Group 2 Sandown Guineas and boasted a narrow defeat at Moonee Valley.
In six career starts in Australia he was proven to race at his best when ridden forward which was evident in his latest performance at Singapore with John Powell electing to settle up close to the speed on the four-year-old for the first time.
In four previous outings in Singapore he had been ridden back in the field and while successful two starts back it is clear he is more tractable when ridden forward.
Since making his debut in Singapore back in October last year, Wall Street Boy has impressively improved 16 pounds and given the extensive margin he put on his rivals last start he is expected to springboard off the mark again on Friday night.
With a fair bit of improvement still up his sleeve on his prior Australian form, he does appears well placed on Timeform weight adjusted ratings even though Lord Brompton and Flying Tempo have proven competitive in tougher company of late.
From the awkward draw Powell is expected to roll forward and settle right up on the speed with the two Hideyuki Takaoka trained gallopers Fujin Bright and Tangible Assets also expected to roll forward.
On his latest victory it is estimated that Wall Street Boy will improve a further six pounds leading into this and hence will prove very hard to beat as that places him at the top end of the scale of this event.
Adding to that the fact he proved so dominant in what was just his first attempt beyond a mile suggests Cliff Brown has found the key to this galloper and he should take plenty of beating.
Flying Tempo is one of three Takaoka trained gallopers engaged in the race and does appear the leading hope from his stable following his solid performance behind Dujardin last start.
Sticking on solidly in the straight to finish a credible fifth in the staying feature, Flying Tempo was successful in notching up a new career peak, a figure which does see him well placed in this affair.
While a minor question mark still surrounds that sole piece of form his effort prior behind Goliath put the writing on the wall that he was set to improve at his next outing, a feat he definitely achieved.
In his last 11 outings he has placed on five occasions including two victories and is starting to build quite the handy record.
From the good draw he is likely to settle just off the speed and work home strongly right into the finish.
The second runner from the Cliff Brown stable, Lord Brompton doesn't appear far away from a win and is likely to appreciate the class drop on Friday night.
Having lined up in Group 3 company at his past three starts the son of Delago Brom has found himself a touch outclassed however his efforts have still been full of merit.
Left a touch flat footed behind Stepitup last start he still managed to hit the line well and should be able to position up closer to the speed from the inside draw.
On career best form he is clearly capable and if either of the top two chances prove to have any chinks in their armour then he is expected to be right there to take full advantage.
Fujin Bright has continued to make his rise through the grades this time in and does appear the next in line as he chases his fourth straight win.
While easily his toughest test to date he has continued to raise the bar and is unbeaten at his only prior attempt at 2000m.
Although he may lack the class of his other rivals he is still expected to be right around the mark.
