Prince Mayted Hard To Beat At Port Macquarie

3 minute read

Prince Mayted will look to continue his good recent form when lining up in the J L Fisher Plumbing Country Plate (1206m) at Port Macquarie today.

The three-year-old gelding has not finished worse than second in eight career starts and has been racing in very good form of late.

Prince Mayted Scored a win by an impressive 5.5L at Coffs Harbour two back and was only narrowly beaten at Grafton last start.

Apprentice jockey Mollie Partridge goes on board for the first time and claims a much needed 4kg off the allotted 60.5kg.

The Colt Prosser-trained runner goes back up to the 1200m today and from barrier 6 is likely to settle around the pace and will be hitting the line strongly with the 4kg claim.

In A Wink looks the big danger dropping back in grade after she was well held at Gosford last start.

Form prior to that was good placing twice in similar company to this and fourth up now should be ready to fire.

Has draw to get a good run in this and leading country jockey Robert Thompson goes on board who strikes at 29% with the in-form Greg Bennett stable

On best form the three-year-old filly looks well placed in this and is likely to be fighting out the finish in this small field.

Little Jatz jumped badly here 16 days ago and didn’t really get close. Gets back, but will be getting home and the J/T are a handy partnership.

Looks the best of the rest and would not be surprised to see him running on over the concluding stages.

Lady Lobban also rates a mention after breaking through for a maiden win last start at this course.

Up in trip where untried but looks to have hit some form and is not without hope.
