Bob’s A Dazzler will look to continue his good recent form when stepping out in the Bective Somerton Cup BM 60 handicap (2050m) at Gunnedah today.
The Robert Knight-trained runner put two good wins together before running on well to finish a narrow second over 2100m at Gosford last start.
Recent form rates well against these and he will not find this any tougher to what he has been racing against in recent times.
Proven over the trip and carried similar weight during his two previous wins so the 58.5kg should not pose any problems here.
Bob’s A Dazzler has not drawn the best in barrier 10 but would expect him to not be far away in the run and will take some beating.
Code Word looms as the danger having been very consistent in recent times.
Running a close fourth over 2600m at Gosford last start, the now eight-year-old gelding was very good prior to that and on best form measures up very well here.
Proven over the trip and from the inside draw should get a good run behind the speed.
Glenn Lynch stays on board and has only missed the placings from six rides and should be around the mark again today.
Couperin produced a good run to win three back at Armidale and has mixed his form in two outings since.
Comes into this off a fourth placing over the mile at Inverell last start and steps up in trip for this.
Has won over the trip previously and form for the most part has been pretty good of late.
One to keep safe in this and is worth an each way ticket based on recent outings.
Other chances include Preen Queen who ran well for second over a similar trip at Port Macquarie last start having won three back at Gunnedah.
Poulette on best form could also measure up here.
