Jacoman can build upon a strong debut in Thursday’s Cervus Equipment Maiden Plate at Ballarat.
The Leon and Troy Corstens-trained gelding was impressive on debut at Kilmore, settling prominently before hitting the line well into second.
The performance returned a Timeform rating of 84 which has him rating clear on top in this line up and there is every chance the Denman gelding can build upon the display here.
Race experience counts for a lot and the three-year-old will have taken plenty of benefit from his debut outing.
Damien Oliver stays aboard and the pair contests a race where they look most suited to strike.
Expect Oliver to again have the gelding handy and will be hard to hold out over the final stages.
In terms of his opposition, there doesn’t appear to be much.
Bel Witness has finished second in two of his three starts this campaign.
The gelding has drawn to receive all the favours from barrier 1 and should be around peak fitness fourth up.
There is a sizeable 18 pound difference on 50 day weight adjusted ratings between Jacoman and Bel Witness though with the former seemingly possessing more upside heading into this contest.
Form figures have Jacoman well clear in the Cervus Equipment Maiden Plate (1200m).
Said Written is another who has a number of minor placings to his name and his last campaign culminated with a performance which returned him a new master Timeform rating of 73.
Such a master figure has him well shy of what Jacoman produced on debut.
Watch for any betting leads around the likes of Crimson Cape and Atalaterdate however both are bred to be better suited over further.
Also check betting for debutants Idamante and Geante Rouge.
Overall though, Jacoman looks a good bet early in the program at Ballarat on Thursday.
