Drama The Narrow Pick Of Moody Duo

3 minute read

Peter Moody has a strong hand to play in the Lakes Podiatry Class 2 Handicap at Wyong on Thursday.

The trainer saddles up two runners in the Class 2 Handicap at Wyong on Thursday with Upham holding favouritism over a host of runners including stablemate Easy Drama.

Moody’s pair of three-year-olds each boast winning claims in the event after their respective first up efforts over 1400m at Warwick Farm.

Each stuck to their tasks well and a drop back to provincial company along with rising to a mile augers well for their respective chances.

While clearly the top two chances, splitting them is difficult although a stronger case can be made for Easy Drama.

Easy Drama stuck to his task well in testing conditions at Warwick Farm on resuming over 1400m.

It was a strong display against the older horses and returned the three-year-old a Timeform rating of 89.

Encouraging about the display is the fact there is substantial room for improvement based on his master Timeform rating of 100 achieved when a midfield sixth at stakes level behind Petrology.

The run prior he finished second to Bondeiger who subsequently went on to finish second in the Group 1 Victoria Derby (2500m).

Along with a strong first up effort, Easy Drama looked solid in his latest trial and outshone his stablemate Upham when they clashed in an 898m heat at Rosehill in early March.

Usually one to get back, jockey Jason Collett could potentially settle that extra bit closer from barrier 3.

He profiles nicely heading into this contest.

Upham was strong in his first up showing at Warwick Farm despite a less than ideal run in transit.

He will settle handier than his stablemate which will work to his advantage around the tight turning Wyong.

Flying Charger has finished second in his past two outings, the latest when falling just short of making all at this course, class and distance.

The gelding should be around peak fitness fourth run from a spell and will give them all something to chase here.

Off The Bench showed good improvement on his first up outing when placing at this course over 1350m.

The Pentire gelding will relish getting out to a mile and the four-year-old’s sole career win came at his prior third up outing.

Stick with Peter Moody though with preference towards Easy Drama in the Lakes Podiatry Class 2 Handicap.
