Fast Approaching rates as the one to beat in Thursday’s 1300m Maiden Plate at Bendigo.
The Mark Kavanagh-trained filly contests the fifth race at Bendigo on Thursday following a fair fifth on resuming at the course and distance a fortnight ago.
She was positioned outside the lead on that occasion however condition gave out first up over 1300m and eventually ran a 2.5 length fifth.
It was still an encouraging display however and one which augers well for her chances in Thursday’s www.countryvet.com.au Maiden Plate at Bendigo.
On 50 day weight adjusted Timeform ratings, Fast Approaching is the top rater based on a first up display which yielded a Timeform rating of 65.
The daughter of New Approach possesses a master Timeform rating of 77 returned on debut when placing on debut at Geelong over 1300m earlier in the season.
It highlights just how much improvement Fast Approaching potentially has in her second run from a spell.

From a wider draw, expect the pair to roll forward, settle outside the lead and take plenty of catching in the straight.

Kentucky Knight was fair through a two start maiden campaign.
Given time to mature since, he is worth though as a value chance from an inside barrier along with Gooram Miss who has also drawn favourably.
