Kaylee To Continue Winning

3 minute read

Kaylee can continue her progression through the grades in the Laurels Function Centre Benchmark 64 Handicap at Sale on Thursday.

The Ciaron Maher-trained five-year-old has returned in excellent order off a generous spell having finished second on resuming before breaking maiden status at this course and distance a fortnight ago.

Kaylee was impressive at Sale, hitting the line strongly for a 1.8 length success despite a tendency to overrace early.

She beat Northern Showdown on that occasion who on Wednesday ran a long neck second over 1400m at Sandown.

It was daylight back to third which further suggests the form out of the race could prove strong.

Considering she was coming off a 509 day spell heading into this preparation, there is every chance Kaylee can improve once again in the Laurels Function Centre Benchmark 64 Handicap at Sale.

Damien Oliver stays aboard who is in superb form at present as is the Ciaron Maher stable.

From barrier 8, expect the pair to settle in the first half of the field.

As of Thursday morning, Kaylee was second favourite for Race 7 at Sale behind the Kane Harris-trained Perazzi.

Perazzi has proven frustrating for followers this campaign, placing in each of his four starts this campaign.

The latest came at Pakenham where he settled back and was closing well to finish second behind Mighty Halo.

It was the third time this preparation the gelding has been beaten less than a length.

He is knocking on the door and will no doubt be charging into calculations late once again.

Crisis Point was a last start maiden winner at Pakenham 27 days ago.

The gelding has been holding form well and should be prominent throughout from an inside alley.

This trio shape as the main winning hopes with potential value players Our Kapow and first up maiden winner Firenze.

It is Kaylee though who looks the one they have to beat in Thursday’s Laurels Function Centre Benchmakr 64 Handicap (1411m) at Sale.
