Talented three-year-old Lim's Racer is due to make her return this evening, set to contest the fourth event at Kranji.
A narrow winner of the Group 2 Golden Horseshoe [1200m] two starts back, the daughter of Red Giant failed to take any part in the Group 3 Juvenile Championship after rearing at the start.
Stewards Report: It was established that Lim's Racer became fractious and reared as the start was effected, resulting in the filly being significantly slow away and taking no competitive part in the race.
Since given a 191 day break, Lim's Racer appears to be in fine fettle and is certainly well placed in the Class 4 event.
Given the sole trial in the lead up, Lim's Racer had a solid hit-out when narrowly edging out her stablemate Autumn Rush.
The pair gapped the rest of the field, with over six lengths back to third.
The overall time was fairly slick (1:00.33) and while off the scene for a while, she should be forward enough to perform well fresh.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, Lim's Racer is very well placed and while it's never easy taking on the older horses, she is more than capable.
Leading jockey Danny Beasley continues his association with the filly and is likely to adopt a forward position from the awkward draw.
Although mixing her form in four starts, when right she is quite the talent and looks to set a decent standard for her rivals.
Likely to contest stronger company down the track, she is definitely a filly worth sticking with.
The Mark Walker trained Gannet creates plenty of interest in his Singapore debut having displayed plenty of ability in his six starts to this point.
Having begun his career in the UK (July, 2014), Gannet was sold and transferred to Hong Kong (June, 2015).
Given two preparations under the care of Richard Gibson, Gannet failed to make it to the track and was retired (June, 2016)— in five barrier trials, Gannet failed to finish closer than 8L from the winner.
Now under the care of Mark Walker, Gannet appears somewhat back on track finishing fourth in a recent barrier trial.
While given a bit of a test up from jockey Gerald Mosse, the signs were encouraging, given he also carried 65kg.
This evening's event will be his first appearance at the races in 577 days — he will no doubt improve with run.
In saying that, he is quite the talent and if better suited under his new surroundings, he cannot be taken lightly.
The Desmond Koh trained Sun Mirage continued his good run of form at this track last start and has to be respected, despite stepping up in grade.
In 10 starts the son of Statue Of Liberty has only missed the money on three occasions and has placed in five of six attempts over this trip.
From the favourable draw he looks to receive a charmed run in transit and shapes as one of the hardest to beat.
Of the rest the Stephen Burridge trained Aussie Eagle appears the next in line, as while failing to come into contention in his Singapore debut, he is more than capable on best form.
Formerly based in New Zealand, Aussie Eagle was placed in three of his six starts and is open to good improvement racing second up.
While arguably better over further, Vlad Duric appears a key booking and he has to be kept safe.
