Nova Swiss To Bounce Back

3 minute read

Talented 3YO Nova Swiss gets his chance to return to the winner's stall this evening when due to contest the seventh event at Kranji.

Unbeaten from his first five starts in Singapore, Nova Swiss was only narrowly beaten in the Group 2 Merlion Trophy [1200m] three back, before disappointing at his next two starts.

Nova Swiss was simply no match for Countofmontecristo in the Group 3 Singapore 3YO Sprint [1200m], before safely held behind Good News last start.

Clearly below his best on both occasions, Nova Swiss has since been given a freshen up (56 days) and has trialled well in the lead up.

In a very competitive trial, Nova Swiss edged out both Mystic Master and boom 3YO Tannhauser in a slick time of 59.46 seconds.

The drop back to 1000m should also aid his chances with the son of Swiss Ace unbeaten in four prior attempts.

Nova Swiss has won five of his seven attempts on the polytrack and he has drawn to get a lovely trail/lead from the middle draw.

Leading rider Manoel Nunes continues his association with the 3YO, winning five of six attempts.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, Nova Swiss rates clear on best form and expecting him to bounce right back to that level this evening.

His most impressive victories have come at this trip and if able to bring his 'A' game, he is sure to take plenty of beating.

The James Peters trained Olympic Anthem was no match for Lincoln Road last start, however he still displayed good improvement and now appears set to peak racing third up.

A winner of nine of his 28 starts, Olympic Anthem has placed in five of six attempts over this trip and with Rodd aboard, he has placed in seven of nine.

The likely strong tempo should aid his chances and while likely to get back, he is sure to be charging home late.

Last start winner Lincoln Road gives weight away to a majority of his rivals, however he is in great form and has to be respected.

A noted flier on the polytrack, Lincoln Road has won six of 10 attempts, including three minor placings.

Lincoln Road is unbeaten in his sole attempt over this trip and like the way he has been kept relatively fresh (32 days) for this.

From the wide draw he is expected to press forward and should be in this for a long way.

Of the rest the consistent Good News appears the next in line.

An impressive winner two back, Good News was no match for Lincoln Road last start, however he should appreciate the drop back in trip and has to be respected.

Good luck and happy punting.
