Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Flemington, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Belmont.

ROSEHILL: RACE 3 @ 1:00 PM

UNUSUAL LEGACY (7) sound return after getting back early before savaging the line late when third over 1500m here on August 31. Undefeated second-up and looks well placed at the weights. Group 3 winner RAF ATTACK (2) has the needed the two runs back to bring him to his top and will find this easier finishing fourth over 1600m at Hawkesbury in the LR Rowley Mile on August 22. Trip suits and the cross-over nose band comes off. Multiple Group 3 placegetter UP AND UNDER (8) flopped badly second-up when a dismal 13 len tenth over 1500m here on August 31. Since fitted with a tick over trial and the stable has tinkered with his gear. Sharp improver. FORECASTER (9) is nearing a win after placing at his past three starts, including a second at this track most recently.
SELECTIONS: Unusual Legacy on top.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 4 @ 1:50 PM

GROWING EMPIRE (1) was outstanding winning the G3 Mcneil Stakes fresh, putting the race away in a matter of strides and easing right down late, affirming his status as the best colt in Melbourne. Hard to see how they beat him unless he regresses. HIGH OCTANE (4) hit the line well first up in the Rosebud behind Gatsby's. He's won a trial easily since and should run a big race with McDonald up. FIRST SETTLER (7) has won both starts to date here over 1000m, showing good toughness late last time. Harder here but has done nothing wrong. STAY FOCUSED (6) was sound in the Mcneil fresh and will be fitter. PROST (3) can run well at each way odds.
SELECTIONS: Growing Empire to win.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 2:23 PM

BATTLEFIELD (5) has grown a leg since joining the new stable stringing three wins together including two around this circuit. Winning rider Dolan sticks in the stirrups and should get a gun run from the inside marble. No reason why he can't win again. LIQUOR (1) loves it here on her home circuit with three wins and a second from just five attempts and gets 3kg off with the claim. Cannot be discounted. GODFATHER (7) returned a winner at Ipswich and will take a stack of confidence from that victory. In the mix. MR GALAZI (8) is knocking on the door of another win finishing runner-up in three of his past four. Can go one better.
SELECTIONS: Battlefield to salute again.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 4 @ 2:42 PM

ANNIE'S ROSE (12) returned with a bang here a fortnight ago when scoring with authority over this journey. Improvement to come second-up. Will drift back again from the poor draw and be climbing over their backs in the lane. ZEBELLA (11) returns and is a noted fresh performer. Loves this journey and is strips fitter for a Murray Bridge trial placing in readiness. Main danger. BUBBLE OVER (10) and LUMBER PUNK (2) rattled home together here two weeks ago, with the former finding the line best. The added trip suits both. Shouldn't be much between them again. COLD CASE (8) returned in the same but never looked likely. Open to plenty of improvement second-up and Jake Toeroek sticking is a good push for his chances. Don't overlook.
SELECTIONS: Annie's Rose to win again. Saving on Bubble Over at a big price.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 4 @ 2:06 PM

BONDI PLUNGE (8) was an impressive first-up winner over this track and trip in Midweek company, running away to win by 1.7L. She'll be better for the run there and she boasts a great second-up record too. Maps for a lovely run once again and can repeat the dose. KEEP ATTACKING (6) jumped favourite over this course and distance 7 days ago but ended up 2.6L off the winner. He draws well again today and maybe getting away from the inside will suit him. Pike remains in the saddle and a better run is anticipated. CROSS STATEMENT (2) stuck on well first-up when gunned down by Bondi Plunge when leading the field. She's a second-up winner previously and the fresh run suggests he's close to his best. Should be close to the speed and be in this for a long way. OUTFIELD (4) was only 2.2L away last start and will appreciate dropping back to this trip. Include. MULTIVERSE (1) has claims after producing some good figures in recent outings.
SELECTIONS: Bondi Plunge can win again.
