The top four-year-old hurdlers take centre stage this weekend at Auteuil in the G1 Prix Renaud du Vivier (3900m). It is a race that has seen some high-class winners over the years including the likes of Ptit Zig, Blue Dragon, De Bon Coeur, Master Dino and L'Autonomie.
In recent years the G3 Prix Pierre de Lassus (3900m) (Hurdle) (Course and Distance) has proved an outstanding trial with three of the last four winners having completed the double. This Group Three acts as a perfect prep race allowing horses a sufficient break prior to the Group One target that awaits.
Trainer Francois Nicolle will be aiming for a hat-trick in the race. He holds five of the current entries including the unbeaten Hermes Baie, who narrowly denied the likely re-opposing Theleme in the G3 Prix Pierre de Lassus (3900m) (Hurdle) last month.
