Japan's Horse of the Year Orfevre will not contest the Dubai World Cup in March.
His connections have decided to pass up the world's richest race in favor of a domestic campaign in 2012 that will culminate with a trip to France for Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October.
The 2011 Japanese Triple Crown winner is now spelling.
“He will race domestically this spring. It will be decided looking at his condition, the weather and so on whether he will run in the Takarzuka Kinen on June 24 at Hanshin or not,” trainer Yasutoshi Ikee told Racing Post.
“I want to make his condition to be the peak at the Arc de Triomphe.
"I will consider if the prep race will be a domestic one or in Europe including France.
"We will go to France in the near future to make an inspection."
