The Group Three Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown in April is a possible first port of call for the progressive four-year-old.

Air Pilot has successfully graduated from maidens and handicaps into Pattern grade this season, culminating with victory in the Listed James Seymour Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

He had gone close to opening his Group-race account at the first attempt when finishing a close third to Berkshire in the Group Three Darley Stakes on the same course last month.

"He did it well and he's a horse to look forward to for next year," said the Kimpton handler.

"I would say we'll think about the Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown in the spring and go from there."
